Dr. John L. Barnett Jr.

Dr. John L. Barnett, Jr. began his practice of Pediatric Dentistry in 1978 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Barnett has served as President of the Pelican State Dental Association, President of the Louisiana Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Chairman of the Medicaid Task Force for the Louisiana Dental Association.  Dr. Barnett also worked at the LSU School of Dentistry, for over ten years, as an Associate Professor.

After Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans in 2005, Dr. Barnett moved back to his childhood home of Fort Worth, Texas and opened Kids Stop Dental Care in 2007. Dr. Barnett’s love of art and music can be seen and heard throughout the colorful new dental facility.  Dr. Barnett is committed to his health through jogging, weight training, nutrition and yoga.  Dr. Barnett has completed six marathons in his running career.

Dr. Barnett attributes his blessings to his faith in Jesus Christ.

Dr. Barnett and his wife, Dr. Arlene Barnett, have three children, Airin, John III, and Nathaniel.

Dr. Raven Wilson

In 2010, Dr. Raven Wilson graduated from Mississippi College with a Master of Science in Biology and Medical Sciences. During her time at Mississippi College, she became a Dental Assistant and found a true passion for dentistry. Dr. Wilson continued to Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry, where she obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2015. Post-graduation, Dr. Wilson worked as a general dentist for three years. During this time, she discovered her passion for providing gentle, comprehensive dental care to children of all ages and individuals with special health needs.

Dr. Wilson’s gentle and kind approach to pediatric dentistry and desire to help children overcome their dental anxieties inspired her to continue her pursuit of becoming a pediatric dentist, and she completed her Pediatric Dental Residency at Howard University College of Dentistry in 2020.

Dr. Wilson’s dedication to improving smiles extends far beyond the office level. She proudly participates in outreach programs and has served in several community outreach organizations and events, including Team Smile with the Washington Redskins, Give Kids A Smile Day, American Heart Walk, and more. She is also an active member of many esteemed associations, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, the National Dental Association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. When Dr. Wilson is not serving in her community or seeing patients, she can be found visiting her family in Jackson, Mississippi, or trying new recipes or restaurants.

Dr. Wilson feels blessed to be a pediatric dentist. She understands that open and friendly communication is vital, and she takes the time to connect with each patient and their family to ensure they feel heard and understood. She takes great pride in helping patients of all ages overcome their fears and anxieties about the dentist by utilizing gentle, child-friendly techniques. Dr. Wilson looks forward to getting to know your family and providing your little one with quality pediatric dentistry throughout childhood and adolescence here at Kids Stop Dental.
